Belgorod-Dniester - the oldest city in Ukraine, and one of the oldest in Europe. It arose in the VI century BC. During this time the city was inhabited by various tribes and nations, each of them called it their own way: Tyre, Ofiussa, Alba Iulia, Belgorod, Feger Var, Ak-Or Mont-Castro, Chetate-Alba. Historical sources indicate that founded the city on the right bank of the Dniester River came from the ancient Greek polis of Miletus. Calling Dniester Tiraspol, the Greeks called the city Tiroy. Belgorod in the XV century - is one of the major European cities with a population of 20,000 people. At the same time built a huge stone castle, the stately form of which was under a capital of a mighty state. The scale of the structure allowed the attack to protect the inhabitants of the city.
